DESCRIPTION:DIALOGS 2022\nInternational scan of the educational offer in the movement arts sector\n \nActivity: Instagram LIVE\nPublic: Open to everybody\n \nSynopsis:\nDIALOGS 2022 is a cycle of four conversations around the international panorama of the educational offer in the movement arts sector. The sessions will take place via Instagram LIVE on November 15, 17, 22 and 24.\nThe second session will be a conversation between Roberto Olivan, director of L’OBRADOR Creation Space, and Keely Song, Assistant Professor of Dance at Brigham Young University (BYU) and the current Artistic Director of the BYU Contemporary Dance Theatre. You can consult the rest of the sessions in this same calendar.\n \nBiography:\nKeely Song is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Brigham Young University and a Certified Laban Movement Analyst (CLMA). She received her MFA in dance from The University of Iowa and was awarded the prestigious Dean’s Graduate Fellowship. Previously, she graduated from the prestigious arts high school Interlochen Arts Academy (U.S.) and after high school received her B.A. in Dance Education from Brigham Young University.\nMs. Song has been the recipient of the Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Award in Choreography and has presented her written and physical research in Malaysia, Finland, and the United States. She has produced and directed several dance films which have been screened in the San Francisco Dance Film Festival, Dance on Camera at the Film and Lincoln Center, Dance Cinema and Dance Camera West to name a few.\nMs. Song currently resides in Utah, US where she is an Assistant Professor of Dance at Brigham Young University and the current Artistic Director of the BYU Contemporary Dance Theatre (Instagram: @byucdt). Mother of three boys and director of the non-profit organization Artist, Interrupted, Ms. Song stays busy within the local community advocating for greater environmental stewardship, arts access, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
