In 2019, a random encounter with a camera on the streets of Tallinn, Estonia made him a momentary poster-boy for a right wing news channel’s campaign against immigration from Asia and Africa.\nIn Because I love the diversity (this micro-attitude, we all have it) Rakesh uses his responsive, human-centred choreographic approach to interrogate the rendering of his image into a viral, racist symbol. He traces the effects on his own body, and how they affect his connection to other bodies — those of the mostly white, deeply loving people around him.\nBio: \nSince 2009 Rakesh has been working on developing a contemporary movement method called intAct – using Kalarippayattu and contemporary movement techniques, Yogic principles.
