Synopsis:

In this workshop it is proposed to work the movement from our internal sensations. In the first part, bodily connections will be proposed through individual or couple exercises, with the objective of gradually integrating different relationships (center-floor, extremities-center…) and unfolding the body in space. With the body already active, the second part of the workshop proposes a space for exploration through improvisation or movement phrases. However, the participants will acquire a new understanding of their own movement and its potential.

Biography:

Magí Serra (1984) is a creator and performer based in Barcelona. Trained in contemporary dance at AREA and SEAD, his works revolve around concepts such as fragility, detail, support, risk and catharsis, within a movement investigation on partnering, rhythm and tradition. So far he has created 6 pieces alone or in collaboration: Units, Esvorell, La mesura del detall, Sa Mateixa, Brots Transhumants and COSSOC. His creations have premiered at festivals such as the Fira Mediterrània de Manresa, the Sismògraf, Fira de Tàrrega, Caldera or l’Auditori de Barcelona. As a performer he has worked with some of the most active choreographers on the current Catalan scene such as Roberto Olivan, GN/MC, Roser López, Lali Ayguadé or Sònia Gómez, with whom he has toured nationally and internationally. Currently, he is in the creation phase of a new piece: Condens, which will be released in 2023.
